Available exclusively at Harvey Nichols, HOOK LDN eyewear are launching an ambassador project alongside their debut collection. Come meet the HOOK Council.

Come springtime you’ll be able to get your hands on a pair of sunnies from HOOK LDN’s debut unisex collection. You can put your trust in their quality – every pair hand finished and co-designed in the UK by HOOK LDN and Fabris Lane (and all for less than £90, WTF!) It’s a fun collection with subtle colour-pop internal features amongst classic styles. Take your pick from black, clear and tortoiseshell frames, layered up with white and fluoro accents.

Designed for the young things of the UK, the HOOK Council know exactly what you’ll want. Ambassadors of the brand, they’re a carefully selected panel of creatives beginning their careers. They’ve covered all bases, enlisting: stylist, Lola Chatterton; Chess Club Records label owner, Will Street; Rinse FM DJ, Julie Adenuga and LCM Fashion East designer, Liam Hodges.  The company ethos even stems all the way from the photographer of the campaign, Bella Howard, another bright young thing in high demand. Hook LDN is also sponsoring New Shapes at music festivals such as SXSW in Texas, involved in Great Escape in Brighton and regular monthly club nights in London! It’s hard to imagine a better representation of the creative youth of the capital.

HOOK’s creative team is music industry based and taking influence from there, each frame design is named after iconic music references, such as, “Novello” and “Rhapsody”. As a brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously, without compromising on quality, we can’t wait to get a look at the full HOOK LDN collection first hand, but which ones will we pick?!

adidas is making luxe strides in the UK with Harvey Nichols, opening an exclusive bespoke space within their Knightsbridge shop.

Get ready, adidas addicts, and we know there’s a lot of you out there, your sportswear brand is moving on up to a chicer place. The new Harvey Nichols space will be the pride and place of exclusive adidas designs and the creme de la creme of adidas collections, including adidas by Raf Simons, adidas x Juun. J, adidas by Rick Owens and adidas Originals = Pharrell Williams.

The huge 500sq foot space is a visualisation of the strength to strength leaps that adidas have taken in the recent years complete with a gallery of Y-3 campaigns covering the walls. Inspired by their infamous sportswear street style aesthetic, adidas’s creative team has amalgamated jock lockers and steel panels with the lavish luxury touches of Harvey Nichols in glossy white shelves and sleek design. This collaborative space will be the hub of action for the year to come from adidas, launching special collaboration projects and the most fashion forward sportswear adidas produces.

Rick Owens threw a massive curveball last fashion week with his African-American Stepping inspired show, the footwear for which was a collaboration between Rick Owens and Adidas which is now available for purchase at Harvey Nichols.

The minimalist, architectural trainers come in leather and nylon mixes in colours of black, white, grey, pearl and bone. The silhouette is instantly recognisable, with exaggerated tongue and heel but only a subtle hint of branding with three perforated stripes along the side.

Prices range from £390 – £475 and are available for men and women at Harvey Nichols.

London’s the only place to spot hot new talent, right? Wrong. Meet Milanese designer pair, Tomaso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari, who’re behind the young label CO|TE.

Despite graduating from the prestigious Instituto Marangoni a few

scant years ago, the duo’s glamorously feminine designs have already impressed buyers at Harvey Nichols, which exclusively stocks the line. We find out about their new collection, their Milanese roots and their mutual distaste for lace.

What was your main source of inspiration for your winter collection?

We broadened our research regarding designers’ raw materials, namely fabrics! We mixed innovative textures and revised our geometrics, making them softer, suitable for a new CO|TE woman.

Who is the CO|TE woman?

In our minds, she is a woman who loves to live in the present and capable of using her clothes to express herself, discovering her hidden playful side.

Does it have a theme, like your SS12 collection which was CYBER PUNK?And if so how did you come to it?

This collection represents the introspective journey that we have both taken. Afterwards, we confronted each other to bring out the best of what we have to give. This is why we feel this collection is the one that best represents us so far. It’s designed for a more adult woman who doesn’t entirely forget her inner child who sometimes comes forward though peculiar prints and precious fabrics.

What is your favourite piece in the A/W13 collection? And which piece are you most proud of?

Tomaso : I love the new knitwear and I’m proud of the woollen coat with knitted sleeves.

Francesco: I adore the new “Pineapple” print and I’m proud of embroidery, a complete novelty in our collection.

Which celebrity would you love to see in your designs?

T : Dakota Fanning.

F : Amanda Seyfried.

What has been your favourite trend of the season so far? And is there any trend which you wish would be over?

Obviously trends based on geometrics and colour block. We don’t really like the overuse of lace.

You met at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, has the city had a big influence on your style?

Milano raised us, we were born here and we love this city and its Made in Italy style which greatly influenced our creative path.

What was it that brought you together? When did you decide to work together?

It was our friendship that brought us together: one day we simply decided to try to create our own collection. We stopped working out the fashion house where we first met, and established our own line. The rest is history.

Claudia Schiffer can add creative director to her CV. The former model’s eponymous cashmere collection launches for Autumn Winter 2011 in collaboration with German cashmere label, Iris von Arnim. The luxe cashmere pieces range from chunky cardigans to slim fitting dresses and will be available exclusively via Net-A-Porter and Harvey Nichols this week.

The earthy toned collection with hints of midnight blue and charcoal make up around 30 pieces. The e-commerce site is set to launch on 12 August but until then, you can watch this video directed by Danny Vaia, featuring none other than Claudia Schiffer.
