BFC’S NEWGEN TURNS THIRTY

A bespoke afternoon tea, fashion-forward window displays and exclusive tote bags lead the partnership with Harvey Nichols.

London Fashion Week might be over, but Harvey Nichols and the British Fashion Council are determined to make it live on. So just on cue, for the month of September, the famed fashion retailer has conjured a sun-splattered terrace, bespoke afternoon tea (we’re British after all), innovative window displays and a dedicated curated sales space; all in celebration of the BFC’s NEWGEN Programme entering a new decade, and turning the big 30.

Just like fashion’s very own fairy godmother, the BFC NEWGEN Programme supports and nurtures the best of Britain’s emerging designers though grant funding, business mentoring and more – helping to establish them as the global, high-end brands of the future. So, as you pull up to celebrate the next household names in fashion, expect explosive romanticism from Simone Rocha, refined elegance from Erdem, and the modern-art inspired Roksanda rocking Harvey Nichols’ windows.

Meanwhile, bespoke prints from a gaggle of NEWGEN designers have been created exclusively for a collection of covetable limited-edition luxury tote bags. And of course, you wouldn’t be doing the British Fashion Council right if you didn’t finish off your afternoon with a bespoke Afternoon Tea experience – or a Seedlip cocktail. Hats off to you if you then make a generous donation to NEWGEN – it’s all about the next generation now.
