Harvey Nichols × Teatum Jones

Teatum Jones are womenswear’s next big textile pioneers.

Winning the International Woolmark Prize at New York Fashion Week is kind of a big deal, and by kind of, we mean a really big deal. Impressing a judging panel consisting of Tim Blanks, Imran Amed, Andre Leon Talley and Thakoon Panichgul, were winners Teatum Jones. The womenswear brand is famed for their modern approach to elegance, use of striking tailoring and futuristic, innovative fabric creations, and have now launched their capsule collection exclusively with Harvey Nichols. Fashion Buying Director at Harvey Nichols Anita Barr said, “I was blown away by Catherine and Rob’s presentation; their innovative use of Merino wool has resulted in a stunning collection that is truly representative of what British fashion stands for today.”

The collection was initially inspired by a wool utopia conceived by English nun Agnes Morrogh-Bernard, whose futuristic approach to fabric construction set the tone for Teatum Jones’ innovative developments, where luxurious modified fabrics make for perfect structured tailoring cloths. Partnering with a specialist guipure lace mill in France – who used wool exclusively for Teatum Jones – they created vibrant, one-of-a-kind geometric Merino laces, as well as stretch wool fabrics that had a similar feel to a scuba suit; we told you they were innovative.

Teatum Jones themselves said of the Woolmark Award win, “We really pushed the innovation in our textile development and the use of Merino wool. We had developed many technique and new ways of using Merino, which impressed the judges. For the final capsule collection, we decided to take the strongest of these techniques and concentrate on developing them, refining them and maximizing the beauty in their potential…This award lets us ignite the magic of wool, so the customer sees the romance in wool.” Get yourself to Harvey Nichols and grab Teatum Jones before it’s gone.
