Can you tell us about how you got scouted?

When I was 14 I did a campaign for a brand in Argentina – my mother agent now, saw it and contacted my parents to ask for their permission for me to join his agency. At first I didn’t want to do it but a year later I said yes!

What have you been up to since you got scouted?

I was mainly working in Argentina until I finished high school but this year I’ve started travelling a lot more which I love! I’ve been to New York and I’m currently in London. It has been an amazing opportunity for me to see different cities that I’ve never visited before.

What’s your favourite thing that you’ve worn on a shoot or in a show that you wish was yours?

When I did the Elle Mexico cover shoot I was wearing a Dolce and Gabbana dress – I still wish I had that in my closet.

Who would be your dream photographer to work with? Or your dream designer to walk for?

It would be a dream come true to work with Mario Testino because I have always admired him AND, we both come from the same continent! Also Glen Luchford because he is unique at what he does. I would love to walk for Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

What do you do when you’re not modelling?

I like to explore and enjoy nature, I’m a foodie so I love trying different cuisines. I also love watching movies. Since I’ve been traveling a lot lately I really enjoy Skyping with my friends and family too of course.

What’s been your favourite moment as a model so far?

I’ve worked with so many great teams and my favourite moments are when I’m shooting with teams that make it feel like fun and not work!

Which city would you love to live in?

I really love my hometown Cordoba, Argentina but if I have to pick a place away from home I would choose Rome because it’s really dreamy and historic.

Do you prefer shoots or shows?

Shoots because you get really show your personally and get to really meet the team that you do shoots with

Who’s your favourite female model and who’s your favourite male model?

My favourite female model is Kate Moss, I always admire her because she is strong and we have the same height so that inspires me to follow my dreams. And my favourite male model is Xavier Serrano.

What do you do with your time off?

I do Pilates and yoga, but I also love horse-riding.

What song always gets you dancing?

Hahah that’s a funny question! I really love to dance to music in Spanish, but a song that also gets me dancing is “Work” by Rihanna.

Ever the innovators, Burberry’s new campaign – launching today – is another chapter in their forward-thinking legacy. However, where the label’s recent headline making advancements have been technological in nature (live streaming and Snapchat based projects to name a few), this campaign returns to a rather more analogue form: illustration. Yep, featuring alongside Mario Testino’s photographs of Burberry favourites model Edie Campbell and actor Callum Turner, are hand drawn and painted pieces by up and coming British artist Luke Edward Hall.

Interpreting both the latest womenswear and menswear collections (including the newly introduced and super coveted Patchwork Bag), Edward Hall uses a mixture of mediums including watercolour, oil pastels, and chalk for his portraits and still life w0rk. Commenting on the project, he said, “when I first saw the collections, the variety of textures and jewel tones inspired me to get my paints out – I love colour and it was a joy to be able to experiment freely. I was lucky to be given free reign and to be one of the first to be able to interpret the iconic trench coat in my own way. As a British artist and designer, it’s been a pleasure to work with Burberry, a brand rooted in British heritage and Craft.”

Understandably, Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey, was pleased to see that the “artisinal spirit of the collection” was captured in Edward Hall’s illustrations, and, of course, the ever vivacious Mario Testino enthused, “I love the human element of the drawings onto the photographs. In this digital world we are living, the softness and handmade feeling adds something intimate. We are constantly moving forward in the way we communicate and this feels a very fresh approach.” With Edward Hall’s work being displayed at Burberry’s Regent Street store from 11th June till the end of the month, you can get up close and personal to the campaign like never before: see you there!

Learn to live your life the ‘Denim Way’ with our fave drag troupe’s amazing debut music clip.

Wednesday’s are the worst, but this week we have a treat for you in the form of an all-singing, all-dancing video from our fave comedy drag troupe, DENIM. From performing at Mario Testino’s birthday party to their upcoming residency at VAULT festival, these gals are bringing their unwavering dedication to fun and totally hilarious pop culture references into our lives this week with the video for their glittering debut single, appropriately named “Denim”.

The troupe – made up of Iraqi queen-bee Glamrou (Amrou Al-Kadhi), Crystal (Tom Rasmussen), Aphrodite (Charlie Parham), Shirley (Hugh Wyld) and Electra (Guy Woolf) – met at none other than Cambridge University and are basically bad-ass gals here to make you celebrate your glorious individuality and push for self-acceptance and freedom of expression. Sounds pretty spot on to us…

Not only is their debut track super-fun, it also has a fantastically funny accompanying music vid, directed by Matthew Hammet Knott and produced by Try Hard Productions, that sees the girls spread their nonconformist message of the ‘Denim Way’ all across the world. From tackling queer discrimination in Russia to seducing a camel herder in the Arabian desert, there is nothing, and we mean nothing they can’t do in this clip. It’s also worth mentioning it features a hell of a lot of chair choreography, coordinated velour tracksuits and an abundance of costume changes. What more could you want?

One time Twilight starlet, frequent Chanel collaborator, and ex-Wonderland cover girl Kristen Stewart has been announced as the face of the label’s 2016 EYES COLLECTION makeup campaign. Previously the face of Chanel’s 2013 Paris-Dallas Métiers d’art collection, Stewart’s “modern, magnetic beauty and free spirit” shine through in these shots by Mario Testino which are set to break next month. Anyone following Stewart’s career will know it’s been going from strength to strength with critically lauded films like Still Alice last year and big projects set for 2016 including Personal Shopper by French director Oliver Assayas as well as Ang Lee’s new war drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. All that and being one of King Karl’s muses: looks like someone’s having a good New Year.

Of course there is. However, that doesn’t stop us from being fairly excited to see the return of the tiny-phone using, loft-living, Derek Zoolander and his Microscooter wielding compadre, Hansel. Well, to celebrate the impending release of Zoolander 2, the people at Cîroc Vodka (eternally the low calorie fashion choice, darling) got together with everyone’s favourite A-List photographer, Mario Testino, for some classic shots of Derek doing his thing. Appropriately he’s throwing a metallic blue suit look and, unsurprisingly, his trademark Blue Steel expression. Testino certainly had good things to say about Zoolander: “Derek Zoolander was so open to all my ideas and helped convey what I wanted to do.  It is not always easy to get people to perform or take on your direction, even when they are actors, but Derek was great. Of course, the moment he did his famous ‘blue steel’ pose was brilliant. It was what we were all waiting for!’

If you fancy getting in on the good looking action, Cîroc – which is made from grapes rather than grain (bet you didn’t know that) – is releasing a limited edition series of ‘Derek Zoolander Blue Steel’ bottles in a standard 75cl, a slightly chunkier 1.75cl, and a part-ready 3l issue. Whichever you get, it’ll definitely be safer than an Orange Mocha Frapuccino.

Burberry, the iconically British brand, have officially announced their SS16 campaign after a teaser of the Mario Testino photo shoot was released live in October for just 24 hours over Snapchat. Very 2015 of them. This stripped-down version of a fashion shoot is the first of its kind, an organic and instantaneous outlook on a high-end brand and industry: ‘we are hoping to change the way in which the industry traditionally views and treat fashion campaigns’ said Testino. This concept is enhanced by the young and bright-eyed selection of models of the moment with nothing but an au naturel glow to their faces.

This fresh-faced cast of bright young things includes Dylan Brosnan (son of Pierce), Bella Yentob (daughter of Alan), twins Ruth and May Bell, Hayett Belarbi McCarthy, Eliza Fairbanks, Misha Hart, Liam Gardener, Sol Goss, Ben Gregory and Louie Johnson. All Brits new to the Burberry campaign.

Alongside the models of the moment, is ‘it’ accessory, The Burberry Rucksack, which sold out immediately after it first appeared on the runway back in September at LFW. The ready-to-wear lightweight bag is available to order online from Burberry.com – the men’s version is soon to follow and will be available from January.

Take a walk down memory lane (even if you weren’t reading magazines in the 90s) with the best Gucci campaigns ever.

Earlier this week we treated you to the best Gucci moments of all time (so refresh yourself if you’ve forgotten just how good some of them are), and now we want to get all retrospective again with one of our favourite brands. Is there anything better than vintage fashion campaigns? Well, probably, yes. But still, the retro typefaces, old-school supermodels in their prime, and throwback trends are both entertaining and educational in equal measure. So, without further ado, here’s our selection of the sexiest, most stylish, and most outrageous Gucci campaigns in history.

AW 1997

Carolyn Murphy and Angela Lindvall get close, personal, and pretty matchy-matchy in black strappy gowns for this Mario Testino shot for the one and only Tom Ford.

SS 2001

We’re into the 00s and so it’s about time for the arrival of Queen Kate in this classic campaign from the lens of Inez and Vindooh.

SS 2003

Oh, this again? Yep. It would have been frankly criminal not to include what is probably the most famous – and controversial – Gucci ad of all time: it’s Carman Kass by Mario Testino.

Fast forward a few years and it’s Insta-darling Joan Smalls showing off her heels with Karmen Pedaru in this vivid shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott

Finishing in the here and now, it’s these shots of Antonia Wilson wearing some Alessandro-era classics (furry horsebits anyone?) by current favourite Glen Luchford.

We take a look at the standout moments from the history of our fave brand.

Alessandro Michele, who was recently awarded the BFC’s International Designer award for his universally beloved work, has revitalised Gucci in the last year with this poet-dreamer aesthetic and we’ve loved every minute of it. But any fashion-lover worth their salt will know that one of the brand’s previous saviours was the legendary, unbuttoned, sexed-up designer-come-director, Tom Ford. Before he and his perfectly tailored power-lapels came to the brand back in the 1990s, it was in dire need of some spicing up and it was Ford that made Gucci the global player we know it as today.

So, we thought it was about time to celebrate the best Gucci moments not just of the past year, but of all time. Well, mostly from the last twenty five years. But hey, we’re millennials!

1953

Screenshot (227)

Time for a little bit of fashion history 101: This was the year that the world first saw the Gucci horsebit loafer that we all know and love so much. Back when Gucci were more a leather-firm than a fashion house, they produced this equestrian-inspired slip on that has since been one of the clearest signifiers of jet-set grade wealth there is: from red-socked Sloaneys to Italian playboys and everyone in-between, the Gucci loafer is as classic as they come.

AW 1995

Screenshot (228)

Though this wasn’t Tom Ford’s first collection at the helm of Gucci, it was certainly the first to make a splash. Having failed to hit headlines in his first two seasons at the brand, Ford thought it was time to go all-or-nothing for A/W ’95: “I could have sent anything down that runway. I had a moment where nobody was looking at anything I did,” claimed Ford. The gamble paid off, and Ford’s velvet hip-hugging creations proved a turning point for the brand. Bye-bye softly feminine knits, hello sexy glamour; the Tom Ford look was born.

SS 1996

Screenshot (229)

Picking up where the sex-appeal train left off, this season was another killer one for Tom Ford: it featured slinky white cutout dresses in seductive jersey that were critically lauded by the Fashion Press. For everyone else, it was Kate Moss’ almost-topless catwalk turn for the brand that season that has been embedded into pop-culture memory – and doubtless innumerable Tumblr dashboards.

AW 2002

100062649 (1)

It was a Gothic extravaganza this time at Gucci, as Ford presented a series of looks in black: black eyeshadow, black fur, black ankle-strap heels. Basically black everything. It was the rock chick but sexed up like you’ve never seen her before. After all this is Ford we’re talking about, not Hedi Slimane, so expect a crucifix necklace gracing a plunging neckline rather than laddered skinny jeans and a leather Perfecto.

That Controversial Ad 2003

screen-shot-2013-06-14-at-15-23-03

Anyone familiar with Ford’s perfume and cologne adverts in recent years will know that he takes the phrase “Sex Sells” at face value – think muscled, unrealistically gorgeous men and women pouring huge bottles of £200 perfume over each other whilst relishing a suspiciously phallic cigar. Well, nothing he does will ever be quite as racy as Mario Testino’s iconic campaign image for Gucci in 2003 that pretty much consisted of an oiled-up model with a G shaved into her pubic hair. Yep, branding reached new half-problematic/half-glorious heights with this exceptionally controversial piece of marketing that cemented Gucci’s status as the sexiest fashion house around.

AW ’15 Menswear

guc_0206

Fast forward to the Gucci of today that we can’t get enough of. Alessandro Michele, former head of accessories at the brand, reportedly had ten days to create this collection after Frida Giannini left the house unexpectedly. In that jaw-droppingly short period of time, Michele conceived of the current Gucci aesthetic and the brand’s luxury jet-setter look was replaced with an altogether more interesting one: the velvet-clad dandy poet who wears bows on his blouses and swans around in elegantly flapping flares. And so, it began.

 AW ’15

Look-3_27W0903

After Michele got warmed up with the menswear this season, he really got going for the main event: this was the collection that launched a thousand bookish-sexy-librarian looks. From those endlessly impractical but sort-of-wonderful furry loafers (which were utterly sold out everywhere) to the Margo Tenenbaum coats that had us all watching our Wes Anderson favourites again, this show announced Gucci as the exotic skinned, wide trouser filled 70s fest that we all know and love. If you’re wondering why you’re suddenly considering flares again when you thought you would be in skinny jeans forever, Alessandro Michele for AW15 is the reason.
