A promotional shot and a little bit of info was released today regarding the hotly awaited collab between the Swedish high street giants and Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain. The biggest news is  that Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn – all personal friends of Rousteing – will be starring in the campaign which is set in a futuristic-urban subway system and photographed by Mario Sorrenti. As you can see in the taster shot below, male models Yun Xiang and Dudley O’Shaughnessy finish off the line up alongside the three supermodels.

The collection will include womenswear, menswear and accessories and will hit stores (as well as online) on the 5th November.

BTS H&M Holiday 2015 Campaign

Pop Queen Katy Perry will be taking centre stage this festive season, in H&M’s holiday campaign. For those of you who haven’t started present shopping yet don’t worry, neither have we. There may be 161 days to go until Christmas day but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about cosy winter knits, right? Katy Perry is by far H&M biggest’s star in a long list of heavy-weight previous campaign features and together, Perry and H&M have been able to create a winter Wonderland (excuse the pun).

It’s Katy Perry’s playful sense of style that drew her to the campaign, with her energetic personality and unrivalled pizzazz. Perry has always been a fan of H&M, noting that it’s where she was able to express her style. With her huge global following we can only assume the festive cheer will be infectious, similar to the pull of that cherry chapstick.

From H&M‘s latest high street collaboration to and Daphne Guinness’ burgeoning music career, here are your top five industry gossip titbits.

1. SEIZURE-INDUCING COLLABORATION OF THE WEEK

Internet meltdown! H&M has just announced a collection with Isabel Marant, everyone’s favourite purveyor of Parisian chic. “H&M works with the best designers, and this invitation is an exciting honour,” Marant said in a release. “I aim at creating something real–something women want to wear in their everyday lives – with a certain carefree style.” In other words, get out the Gauloises and fire up your mini-scooter for Le Marais; this is going to be the high street collab of the season. It drops 14th November. [Guardian]

John Galliano

2. JOHN GALLIANO’S ROAD TO REDEMPTION, PART 23432155

Another baby step for Galliano. After his first post-scandal interview with Vanity Fair, he’s now landed a TV interview with American presenter Charlie Rose. Apparently, Oscar de la Renta, who’s good friends with Rose, made it all happen. Meanwhile, Cathy Horyn argues that Galliano should be given a second chance – but he’s got to do it on his own. Maybe someone should tell Oscar… [WWD; NYT]

3. ADORABLE INTERNET TIMEWASTER OF THE DAY

Burberry have teamed up with Google to offer Burberry Kisses, which lets users capture and send a kiss to anyone over the internet. Head to kisses.burberry.com on your smartphone, plant a kiss on the screen, and watch as Google technology transforms it into a digital imprint. You can then select a lipstick shade from Burberry’s latest collection before sending it to someone who needs a smooch. Alternatively, you could meet up with them face-to-face and give them a real kiss but ugggggggh, that’s so early 2000s. [kisses.burberry.com]

4. IS DAPHNE GUINNESS THE NEW NICO?

Kinda sounds like she’s trying to be, no? Fashion’s two tone-haired patron saint is dipping her toe into the music world with the release of her single, Fatal Flaw. There’s even a video directed by Nick Knight. It’s all a bit Nico-without-the-German-accent with Velvet Underground guitars. Apparently, Guinness once wanted to train as an operatic soprano, but her then-husband Spyrous Niarchos hated classical music. [Jezebel]

Central Saint Martins Number One Fashion School In The World

5. CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS COMES OUT TOPS

Fashionista has ranked the best 50 fashion schools in the world, and – surprise surprise – Central Saint Martins nabs the number one spot. But other British universities have reason to hold their head high – Royal College of Art came second and Kingston University landed in fourth place, while London College of Fashion, the University of Westminster and Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication were all ranked in the top 20. Close your eyes and don’t think of the tuition fees… [Fashionista]

The self-described Mrs Carter performs ‘Standing On The Sun’ for the first time in her campaign video for the high street chain.

Beyoncé‘s publicity blitz as the new face of H&M continues. The self-proclaimed Mrs Carter leads a troupe of H&M bikini-clad dancers as she sings her new track ‘Standing On The Sun’, which was written by Sia and Greg Kurstin. Jonas Åkerlund, best known for his work with Lady Gaga, directs. The video follows on from the campaign pictures by Inez & Vinoodh, which were released earlier this month.

The star’s set to kick off her UK tour tomorrow in Birmingham. Personally, we’re more concerned about all that sand she’s flinging around – that stuff stings, Bey!

Meet & Other Stories, the newest kid on the high street.

& Other Stories Regent Street store front

Here at Wonderland, we go to a lot of store openings. Here’s what usually happens: people mill around, necking champagne and feigning a socially acceptable measure of interest in the clothes.

Not so at the & Other Stories launch party last week. We’ve never seen so many people in line for the changing room. Earlier that day, its e-store otherstories.com crashed from the sudden spike in traffic. “I finally got online and said, ‘I want that, that, that and that,” we heard  woman said to her friend, plucking another impeccable silk blouse from the rack.

& Other Stories is a concept store for the girl who wants Acne and Isabel Marant at Topshop prices. It doesn’t do trends (at least, not consciously) – as the name implies, it’s in the market for stories. Walk into its two-storey flagship on Regent Street and you can find everything from foundation and nail polish to heels and hats for you to complete your personal style odyssey. You’ll find everything from APC-style boatnecks to the & Other Stories take on the 3.1 Philip Lim neoprene clutch to nudge you on your way. Think a younger version of Cos and you’re halfway there.

& Other Stories has the commercial clout and vision of a commercial high-street retailer – it has owner Hennes & Mauritz to thank cheap auto repair for that – but with the thoughtfulness of a much more exclusive boutique. They’re not just throwing clothes out there and hoping something sticks – each garment is classed into one of four mini-collections (sporty and sculptural, preppy and classic, etc). Hero pieces? The holographic clutch sold out pretty much within a few days, and we spotted our fashion editor Julia Sarr-Jamois in the Nike Free 5.0 V4 trainers.

The Regent Street launch is the first part of an ambitious Europe-wide roll out, with store openings planned in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, and Berlin. It’s the newest addition to the high street, and trust us: we think it won’t be too long till it’s a wardrobe staple.

Susan Caplan offers vintage jewellery and accesories on her website – www.susancaplan.co.uk. We catch up with her to find out more…

If someone hadn’t heard of you business, how would you describe it?
I would describe it as a unique selection of individually sourced and authentic vintage treasures. A perfect place to find that finishing touch for your outfit echoing this season’s trends. The great thing about vintage is that as fashion trends evolve, different eras are put into the spotlight offering us an opportunity to be constantly inspired and influenced by the past. Our range includes the largest selection of designer vintage jewellery in the UK also so its a great place for everything!

What designers have you worked with this season?
This season is all about Chanel. Again! I love working with vintage Chanel pieces. Each season they just become more popular. I also really enjoyed working with Elizabeth Taylor’s pieces before the festive period because of the excitement that surrounded her auction. Naturally, though, my most excitable moment of 2011 was sourcing the vintage Versace body harness that went into my collection at Selfridges. Versace experienced (and is still experiencing) a huge revival of interest. The collaboration with H&M and the news of their couture show in Paris projected the fashion house to the forefront of fashion news and I curated a small collection of vintage Versace pieces to coincide with that wave exclusively for Selfridges, London. The harness went into that. I loved the echoes from Gianni Versace’s ’92 bondage catwalk collection. One of the Versace cuffs that sat within the collection is actually featured in the ’92 campaign image.

How did your fashion career start? My fashion career actually began from my antiques career. I realised a gap in the market for quality vintage jewellery whilst I was an antiques dealer so I began to supply to one UK department store. Very soon I realised just how big the demand was for this product category and the brand was rolled out to a number of stores up and down the country. I love what I do – I have a great excuse to look at beautiful jewellery (designer and unsigned) all day long.

What are you most excited about at the moment? I’m most excited about the brand’s plans for 2012. It’s still very confidential but there is an exciting project that we are working on – it should be launched in the middle of the year. Keep your eyes peeled!

Do you have a daily uniform? I’m often running around outside of the office and so I need to be comfortable. For this I’m usually in muted colours and statement earrings. My earrings of choice right now are by Alexis Kirk from the 70s. If I have an appointment in the showroom I usually reach for my fail safe Diane Von Fustenbergs. I’ve loved her designs since I was in my 20s and she never disappoints with tailoring or print. I’m a big fan.

Who is your right hand wo/man? I actually have a few! By that I mean that I couldn’t do what I’m doing without my team. They all share the same passion that I do and we very well together. We’re like a family.
