It has never been more apparent to us than right now that what we do has a direct impact on the world around us. And one brand that has always had this exact philosophy at their heart is aptly-named Good News, the London-based footwear brand designing sneakers with the planet and its future in mind.

Since its inception in 2016, their “bring the world a little bit of good news” mission statement has made waves with its distinct playful, retro-inspired trainers, paired with an unwavering commitment to sustainability. And now, Swedish giants H&M have teamed up with Good News for an innovative collaboration featuring boundary-pushing materials such as Bananatex® — fibre from banana plants — and the vegan grape leather Vegea™.

Expect 70s-hued striped sliders crafted from recyclable cotton, low top trainers crafted from TENCEL™ Lyocell cellulose fibers with a pattern inspired by Portuguese mosaic tiles, and paired-back classic black sneaker staples. Spot colourful half circles at the bottom of the soles of each of the shoes, representing both brands coming together to advance sustainability, and symbolising their shared conviction: “to complete the circle we need each other”.

The Good News x H&M unisex trainer collection will be available on hm.com and in selected stores on 1 April*. The kids’ collection will be available on hm.com on 1 April.
