From cult favourite to global success, Escentric Molecules proves that quiet innovation can make a loud statement.

On October 23rd, Escentric Molecules celebrates 20 years of quietly redefining perfumery, starting with one idea that changed everything: Molecule 01.
When Geza Schoen introduced Molecule 01, the fragrance world was dominated by complex, branded blends. Schoen’s radical vision, a fragrance built around a single aroma molecule, Iso E Super, sparked a cult following: whispered about on Reddit, hunted down in the best curated boutiques, and shared like an insider secret. The proof? It was the single largest selling item in the history of Liberty.
“Molecule 01 made aroma chemicals sexy. It disrupted the status quo and opened the door to a whole new way of thinking about scent”, Geza explains, “Molecule 01 played a key role in shifting the narrative around what a fragrance can be. Until then, the focus was largely on naturals, those were the ingredients that got all the attention in scent descriptions. But we made a single aroma molecule, Iso E Super, the star.”
To mark the anniversary, the brand is launching its first-ever 200ml format of its most-loved scents: Molecule 01 (£215) and Escentric 01 (£220), exclusively at escentric.com
