Esteemed UK producer µ‑Ziq shares an adventurous, ambitious remix of New Jersey-based composer Textbook Maneuver’s single, “Adrenaline Slip”.

Those versed in the depths of the UK underground electronic scene will likely be aware of µ‑Ziq. The revered left-field UK musician, producer and label founder – real name Mike Paradinas – is over 30 years deep into his artistic tenure, dropping multiple seminal albums, and being the brains behind record label Planet Mu. He shared his latest full-length, 1979, on Halloween, a sprawling, technically intricate opus that further cements his legacy.

Now, he’s back again, this time reworking the work of Textbook Maneuver, a new wave riser in experimental electronic music. Plucked from the Bronx-born, New Jersey-based composer’s recent album of the same name, “Adrenaline Slip” is a complex and compelling collaboration between two forward-thinking minds. Paradinas offers: “The starting point for my remix of Adrenaline Slip was one of the stems, an Alchemy patch which sounds like a distorted electric guitar. I processed and cut it up, adding a breakbeat and tried to make it all a bit dreamy and smeared, inspired by 90s shoegaze bands like MBV and early Swervedriver.”
