Back with a bang, GoldLink returns with his first offering of 2016. Sharing a series of visuals to accompany the sensational narrative of his debut album, And After That We Didn’t Talk.

GoldLinkHeadShot

The DMV artist collaborates with the directing duo Rubberband; exploring the past relationships that his album so honestly details. UK based artist/poet Kojey Radical supplies an expressive narration throughout the three spots, which include illustrations by Melody Hansen. GoldLink explains, “Every man has or will go through these three different relationships. These visuals embody the core of my album, ‘And After That, We Didn’t Talk.’ This is me reflecting on what I guess I learned too late.”

The visuals are truly stunning, showcasing a heightened artistic and creative awareness from the Future Bounce artist. Kojey adds, “With this project we really wanted to explore aspects Male and Female interaction using colour as catalyst both visually, audibly and emotionally. I wanted to keep a key focus on male insecurity and highlight the manner in which we as men choose to treat women. Each video seems to resemble a fleeting moment, intensifying the dialogue with every listen. It reflects just how much the little things we say can become so much more potent the more the moments replay in your mind.”

Watch the visual vignettes “Pink”, “Blue” and “Orange”, below.

PINK: The memory of someone you didn’t deserve. Someone too good for you that you wronged just by being with them.

PINK from Goldlink on Vimeo.

BLUE: The remembering of an obsession. A relationship you will inevitably, always carry a piece of. A relationship that fragments and damages you and leaves its indelible mark.

BLUE from Goldlink on Vimeo.

ORANGE: Equilibrium. The moment where all the noise fades away and you feel absolutely connected to that other person.

ORANGE from Goldlink on Vimeo.

And After That, We Didn’t Talk is out now on Black Butter Records/ Soulection.

Brooklyn born contemporary menswear designer Chelsea Bravo has teamed up with Kojey Radical for a capsule collection

Brooklyn born contemporary menswear designer Chelsea Bravo has created a crisp, detailed experimental one of a kind capsule collection in collaboration with poet and mixed media artist Kojey Radical. Based on painters canvas & garden utilitarian workwear Chelsea Bravo combines unconventional tailoring with unique shapes and patch work techniques, introducing elements of embroidery for added detail, along with interior embellishment, and a one of a kind padded vest jumper painted by hand by Kojey Radical. Initially made only for studio archives the garments are all one of a kind and are extremely limited.

Opting for a neutral colour palette, the key pieces resonate a minimal aesthetic, whilst detail comes in the shape of an intricately quilted zipped gilet. The collaboration coincides with Kojey Radical’s highly anticipated debut EP ‘Dear Daisy: Opium’ released this month, bringing to life the attire of the EP’s main character ‘The Gardener’. A multifaceted conceptual piece, Dear Daisy tells stores of love, gender issues, social interaction, insecurity and more, bringing together inspiration communicated through poetry, music, photographic collections, illustration and film to coincide with the capsule collection.
