Michael Maffei and Sundeep – aka the Brooklyn-based duo hunter & wolfe – share their second single from their forthcoming album title I Deserve This, out later this year. The single, “Last Time”, embraces the seriousness and self-awareness to never take themselves too seriously.

Inspired sonically by the likes of Elliot Smith and St. Vincent amongst other indie-rockers, the duo have situated themselves exceptionally within the scene, whilst generating their own signature sound. The two compliment each other like no other within this track, a polished display of silky smooth vocals from Maffei, elevated by Sundeep’s revolutionary beats.

The single is home to hunter & wolfe’s forthcoming 11-track album, written one sleepless night about many other sleepless nights. In the artists own words, “Last Time is about all the things I tell myself I’ll get to tomorrow: the same things I told myself the night before. It’s not so much about procrastination as it is an obsession with achievement; the desire to be “productive” – whatever that really means.”

The pairing are truly spell-bounding and taking unwavering strides within the rock world. The humble track is bursting with soul healing synths and lessons we can all relate to.
