PREMIERE: FAYE FANTARROW – “THE WEEKEND” 

The Sunderland alt-pop artist drops her latest music video alongside a debut EP, a heartfelt project full on summer hits.

Rising star and multi-talented artist, Faye Fantarrow, releases her seven song EP, AWOL via Dave Stewart’s Bay Street Records – a project that masterfully frames Faye’s unique sound. Combining soulful alternative tones and her signature vocals, Fantarrow dips into the alt-indie scene whilst embodying her very own artistry within pop.

This exquisite EP is home to single “The Weekend”, with a new music video unveiled today. Filmed in her hometown, and directed by the astonishing Myles Docherty, this visual offering is a striking take on life for so many hardworking people. Dave Stewart adds: “The Weekend speaks about having a celebration in the face of diversity. It’s a very poignant song for so many, including Faye who is a true hero in my eyes.”

Fantarrow’s journey as an artist hasn’t been smooth-sailing after receiving the heartbreaking news of an extremely rare Glioma brain tumour. Faye previously battled with Leukaemia twice since she was first diagnosed at just eight years old. The discovery of this new tumour came as a devastating shock amid recording her debut album. Despite this life changing news, Faye remained unhindered and created am and exceptionally awe-inspiring EP.

“The Weekend” is a true testament to Faye’s stellar talents, encapsulating emotions we all can relate to in a silky-smooth yet poignant manner. With thumping rhythms and masterful lyrics, “The Weekend” showcases the artist’s ability to speak on themes in such a poetic fashion is truly inspiring, and set to skyrocket her into the alt-pop scene.
