Princess Nostalgia — an international producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist who works on every step of her music — premieres her new video for “Gestalt Switch”. Formerly a philosophy major, the artist brings philosophical ideas into her work as she blends genres and discusses the ambiguity of man-made boundaries. From the first notes, the track takes its listeners on a trip. Ominous bass lines and a laugh propel the sound into a full-bodied experience of effects-heavy vocals and a funk, electronic, rock, and pop mix. As Princess Nostalgia sings, she touches on the horrifying uncertainty of nightmares and questions her own senses: “I can’t tell the sky from the sea / I can’t make out the line / In the space between A and B / I wish I could run but, I’m out of breath / You seem so loving, but it’s only cunning.”

Written, recorded and produced by Princess Nostalgia herself, it is only fitting that the music video was also directed and edited by the musician. She redefines the role of the artist and continues to prove herself at the forefront of a new wave of music. Experimental, electrifying, moody, and dark, the video breaks out of reality and into a new sphere all Princess Nostalgia’s own.

Be on the lookout for more information about Princess Nostalgia ahead of her upcoming EP, No Guru, and summer East Coast tour.
