PREMIERE: RAINDEAR – “MAJESTICALLY MAD”

Hailing from Sweden, this rising artist wields a sophisticated repertoire of references with her latest project.

Meet Raindear, the moniker of the Swedish artist and producer Rebecca Bergcrantz. Soaking up musicality from her parents, who infused her upbringing with classical and jazz sounds, Bergcrantz has always felt compelled to create her own music. And with her unique background, she has an advantage that many artists do not possess: the ability to combine jazz and classical influences with intoxicating electronic pop – resulting in a stunningly unique sonic direction that is uniquely her own.

The nascent artist is back with a new album Majestically Mad. Led by the mesmerising title track “Never Let Go,” this project is a stunning selection of groundbreaking tracks from Bergcrantz. The deep-lying synth hits hard from the start, inviting listeners into Raindear’s euphoric dream-pop world, where her empowering melodies take center stage among the dramatic pop production.

Rebecca transcends beyond the boundaries of everyday pop music with “Never Let Go,” redefining what we consider the genre as. The result is a spellbinding dose of bittersweet alt-pop that will captivate listeners instantly. Other tracks on the album, such as “Merely Bones,” showcase another side of Raindear’s ever-expanding musical prowess. Pop-infused once again, but with more deeply invigorating synth pads, it moves into a more dance-pop world where Bergcrantz revels amidst complex rhythms and production.

Raindear is an artist in a lane all of her own. Delving deep into so many sonic pockets, and showcasing her songwriting – the result is a truly one-of-a-kind body of work that proves that she is here to stay.
