If you’re ready for the next big thing in rock music? Look no further than Queen Cult, the Macclesfield-based band making waves in the industry with their unique and infectious take on the genre.
Their latest offering, “Lollipop,” is the perfect example of what makes Queen Cult stand out. The single’s foundation is built on a vibrant blend of heavy-hitting drums and overdrive-soaked guitars, with understated synth lines creeping in to add an electronic element to the mix. Lead vocals, sung by frontwoman Maisie, are tinged with pop sensibilities while also having an aggressive edge that cuts through the mix, perfectly complementing the hard-hitting lyrics.
According to Maisie, “Lollipop” was a spontaneous song to write, and serves to vocalize the honest and visceral frustration of not knowing how to approach a changing situation. Formed by Maisie, Brodie Carson on drums, and Piers Jarvis on bass, Queen Cult are not only making a name for themselves in the rock music scene, but they’re also actively supporting the LGBTQ+ community and are part of the rapidly growing alternative live music scene in the UK, organised by and supporting femme-led LGBTQ+ artists who excel live and have something to say.
After a pandemic-imposed hiatus, Queen Cult returned with their debut EP, “Woman That I Know,” in January 2022, which was met with critical acclaim and landed the band their first DSP support. The band continued to release singles throughout the year, gaining support from major radio stations and festivals. Their highly-anticipated second album, For Now, Not Forever will be released on February 10th, 2023, preceded by new single “Lollipop” on January 20th. And as a live-focused band, Queen Cult have been gathering momentum on the road during 2022, supporting grass roots venues across the UK and performing at major festivals.
Don’t miss out on the chance to see Queen Cult make their mark in the rock music scene. Listen to “Lollipop” now and mark your calendars for the release of For Now, Not Forever.
