Stepping out from his previous position as the original trumpeter for the band Capital Cities, Ludwig has carved a new dimension of possibility for his sonic weapon of choice, putting a fresh spin on the pop genre. Crafting deliciously sweet sounds, the trumpeter has released “Helium” – the first single off his sophomore album Scrapbook and a track that’s guaranteed to have your head in the clouds.

For Ludwig, “Helium” centres on the the ripple effect of positivity, the joy of human connection and a pledge not to take life too seriously – mantras we can all get behind. Laced with top-notch trumpet leads and pulsing beats, the track has an unenviable earworm effect. On the release, Ludwig reflects “I wanted to make sure that when I leave this planet, there is something out there that lets listeners into who I really am as a person, trumpeter, and artist. If nothing else, I hope that these songs leave the listener feeling joyful and inspired.” With “Helium”, it’s safe to say he has succeeded. An electrifying anthem for 2022, the track is destined to be a feel-good fave for years to come.
