“Feeling at home in your own environment, taking up space, or feeling safe in your own body are some things that others may take for granted because they have never had to think about it. Not all of us get to experience a secure sense of feeling comfortable and safe enough to completely let go, lose control, and be ourselves without fear of the external consequences coming from hateful and loveless places.” This is how PRISCILLA began describing the leitmotif of the electropop duo’s latest release, “Lose Control”.

The track saw its release on October 28th, ahead of PRISCILLA supporting The Veronicas during the Summer Festival at the Ice Cream Factory on December 2, and launching their single at Fremantle Arts Centre on December 11. The track longs for a sense of community; its shimmery, disco-inspired production parallels the euphoric feeling of belonging and the togetherness created on the dancefloor.

PRISCILLA (comprised of P Gardner and Luke Minness) furtherly explains how “Lose Control” is not just a dance anthem and has way more profound implications for society and, most importantly, the safe spaces that comprise it:”Not all of us get to experience a secure sense of feeling comfortable and safe enough to completely let go, lose control, and be ourselves without fear of the external consequences coming from hateful and loveless places.”
