Elizabeth Woolf has spent the last two years living as a nomad, outside of her home state of California. Aside from taking in the world’s sites, it’s afforded her space to hone her voice, cultivate new modes of storytelling and interact with sounds from across the world.

Led by blissed out, breezy single “Lady Night”, “maui e” is the first in a series of four EPs, inspired by the places she’s seen, with “nyc e”, “london e” and “la e” still to come from the pop, folk, soul artist. As she explains: “The “e” is separated because my name is Elizabeth, but I’m connecting to the truest and purest form of myself, “e.” This is the era of e.” The releases will culminate in an album, plac(e)s due later this year.

Each EP and city she’s lived in show a different dimension of Woolf’s artistry. She describes “maui e” as the “romantic acoustic” side of her, a reflection of languid, dream-like days in the Hawaii sun. “I was living in a beautiful place, with my best friends. We made smoothies every morning, watched the sunset every night, I walked on the beach every day and took in the sounds of nature around me.”

If like us, you think that sounds unreal but can’t exactly make it to Hawaii right this moment, then head below to hear Woolf’s gorgeous musical take on the city right now…
