Journeying through the most formative chapters of her life so far, chae’s “Letters I’ll Never Write” is a memoir of love, pain, growth, heartbreak and grief, told through a minimalist pop-R&B lens, with time-stopping vocal dexterity emerging as the centrepiece.

The singer-songwriter – otherwise known as Chelsea de Silva – previously lended her voice to EDM tracks, however, a more introspective approach on “Letters I’ll Never Write” is favoured, which sees her explore her unique experiences as an Indian-American woman, as well as what it means to fearlessly live our truth and reckon with feminine duality.

“chae is an identity that’s a part of all of us,” she says of her music making persona. “She holds the tides of emotions, the duality of femininity, but most importantly, she is an expression of a young heart coming to age. ‘Letters I’ll Never Write’ is a promise to myself, but also a learned fact that sometimes, often than not, words aren’t ever enough.”

Let the music do the talking, in that case, by listening to the luxurious “Letters I’ll Never Write” below…
