As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. And, artist on the rise, Olmo, is here to remind us of this with his new single, “25”. Serving up a luxurious blend of subtle synths, gentle drips of piano keys and the artist’s angelic tone, the new tune offers up an existential comment on the beauty of beginnings and endings – deep stuff, right?
And, for a tune as profound as this one, it is only fair that it came with a captivating visual display. Plunging us into the scenic depths of Berlin, the video takes us on a whistlestop tour through the beautiful-yet-turbulent transitions life brings on – all of which ripple through the beautiful city.
“My relationship with Berlin is very much a love/hate one. Its ‘madness’ can quickly turn to ‘sadness’ and sometimes its exciting, uncharted chaos can be overwhelming,” explains Olmo when discussing the video. “This song was written after the end of my first big, important relationship in Berlin, within which I saw the juxtaposition of the grounding, linear, familiar aspects of a relationship against the ephemeral, chaotic and bustling nature of a city like Berlin.”
