It’s not often that an entirely new sound surfaces in the music industry. Many draw upon stuff of legends, channeling R&B or rock inspired by the greatest. Yet when something completely unheard of comes along, we need to nurture it and make it heard.
That’s where Sabriel steps in. Pronounced shä brē el, the Las Vegas-hailed singer has created her own unique world of hauntingly atmospheric neo-soul steeped in synths from another world. Her latest single, “Yellow” – the second single to be released from her upcoming EP – brings all these things to life. Sabriel’s poetic vocals transform and herald vulnerability in its purest sense.
“It’s a song about the first woman I dated after finally getting out of a toxic relationship with a man. I was so excited to be free and to date who I wanted to date. That freedom and newness felt so yellow. Bright and buttery and clean. The song is simple inspired by the places she & I went and the things we saw. It was so nice to feel like my own person and I could not wait to experience healthy dating.”
The EP will represent a journey of self discovery, a raw and honest tale of growth and Sabriel’s vulnerable side coming to the forefront. “I want to achieve vulnerability through these songs so that others can have a better understanding of their own experiences too.”
