Nothing is more gripping than an intense dramatisation of real-life events, especially ones that captured the attention of the entire globe. And, no story did this quite like that of Anna Delvey.

With Netflix knowing this, the streaming platform turned to actress Julia Garner to step into the shoes of the infamously scandalous German heiress, accused of conning New York’s elite out of their wealth for their upcoming biopic drama, Inventing Anna. With the author of the explosive How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People, Jessica Pressler, having also been called upon to act as a producer of the sure-to-be-captivating tale, it is fair to say that the anticipation surrounding its pending release is rife. And the only thing that could add to the hype? It is, of course, its official trailer.

From the hedonistic scenes of the devious socialite wielding champagne glasses and lounging about in some of the most luxurious settings in New York to intense, jail-bound scenes featuring a prison uniform-clad Anna being interrogated by a journalist, Netflix has proved that we are in for a mysterious rise and fall tale of how fake it ‘till you make it can sour, sure to have audiences across the globe begging the questions: who is the real Anna Delvey, and how did she manage to secure those $40 million loans? And, with the likes of Anna Chlumsky, Arian Moayed and Laverne Cox joining lead Julia Garner, it becomes clear that we are in for stellar performances, as well as plenty of drama.
