If we have learnt one thing from this fashion month, it is that the fashion world is embracing the digital world with open arms. And, while the array of digital displays that we have been treated to have been a wonderful thing to behold, none of them have been quite as hype-stirring as that of the Balenciaga SS22 show.

Whilst industry players and celebrities alike descended on the rich red carpet laying outside of the Theatre du Chatelet this week – all of which were dressed in Balenciaga’s latest cuts sure to be adorning Kim K in no time – a buzzy atmosphere ensured leading the anticipation surrounding the Spanish house’s latest ‘show’ to swell. And, while many were expecting a glamorous catwalk to take place inside, guests were treated to the most unexpected yet celebrated display of the season: The Simpsons x Balenciaga.

With Balenciaga taking a trip to the beloved city of Springfield, onlookers were awe-stricken by the scenes of Bart, Marge and Lisa Simpson embroiled in a 10-minute-long special fashion week episode of the show. With a plot centring around Marge Simpson lusting over an extravagant Balenciaga gown, the cast of the infamous show graced the animated runway in an array of classic Balenciaga looks. And, to make the affair all the more exciting, fashion fans were also treated to a look at cartoon Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West situated front row.
