With everything that has happened this past year, it’s not hard to feel like you might have lost yourself. Putting all these conflicting emotions into their latest single is The Lighthouse and The Whaler with “Way Back”. Filled with euphoric guitar melodies and a steady drum-led bass line, the band take us through their difficulties of finding themselves and how they persevered, regardless of how they felt.

“When we first started writing ‘Way Back’ the chorus lyrics were the first thing to come out, “ the band revealed when discussing the single. “It became this song about the odd ways we complicate relationships and the oftentimes circular nature of life. I think that life moves in circles especially in relationships. We move and pass one another and sometimes we say what we mean but I find there’s a weird orbit we maintain that often finds us coming back to people important to us.”

Formed over a decade ago, the trio consisting of Michael LoPresti, Mark Porostosky and Ryan Walker have released three albums and headlined various shows across the states. With more new music on the way, we’re excited to see where the future will take the indie trio.
