Looking for some wholesome sounds to fill your Friday? Look no further than musical duo Cat Clyde and Jeremie Albino’s latest single. Featuring ringing harmonicas and the twang of acoustic guitars, the Canadian pair unveil their latest track “Freight Train”. While soothing bluesy tones and hearty vocals run throughout, we are taken on an exploration of the soul, blues and folk genres as the track’s hazy sounds transport us to the country.
“We have been in love with this song since the first time we played it together years ago, and it inspired the original idea of doing a covers album together,” explains the musical duo. “After trying it a couple of different ways we decided the stripped-down raw performance really felt like the best way to pay homage to ‘Freight Train’, a song written by Elizabeth Cotten when she was 11 years old!”
This latest musical offering comes from the duo’s upcoming album Blue Blue Blue, which is set for release on May 21st. Harking on their pre-pandemic ideas, the musical pair hope to offer warm feelings of closeness and bonding with their work, meaning that their upcoming project is set to be a truly wholesome display.
