Commence immediate hyperventilating now. The Little Women trailer is finally here. We’ve been just about satiated up to this point on snack-sized teasers, including a number of official first look images straight from Greta Gerwig’s highly-anticipated adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel – but now we’re about to be fed real good.
First things first, we’ve had to come to terms with certain earth-shattering realisations: we’re thirsty for Timothée Chalamet in a billowing white chemise and velvet waistcoat (CHASE US ON THE BEACH), woven baskets are going to enjoy an exponential explosion in sales, and Meryl Streep in any sort of veil is our forever mood. Also how can we not stan Saoirse Ronan as play-writing Jo?
Helmed by the Oscar-nominated director of 2017 indie flick Ladybird, Gerwig also brought along her favourite cast members Chalamet, who plays Laurie, the rich boy next door, and Saoirse Ronan, who stars as Jo March. Also in the glittering cast – which basically reads as a who’s-who of indie A24-birthed actors – Emma Watson as Meg, Florence Pugh as Amy, and Eliza Scanlen as Beth. As well as the March sisters, we have the inimitable Streep as their wealthy Aunt March, and Laura Dern as Marmee.

Little Women will launch in cinemas on 26 December 2019.
