A wetsuit made from wool? We didn’t quite believe it either until we saw the real deal, adorned with a Prada logo, hanging in the Campaign for Wool‘s immaculate new pop-up, The Wool Beach Lodge.
Connecting international brand partners across the interiors, fashion, sports performance and lifestyle industries, the Cornwall-based lodge houses the next generation of wool innovators including Devold, Icebreaker, Tetrad, Solidwool, Wool & Prince and Dashing Tweeds. In association with the campaign, Sheep Inc – the world’s first carbon-negative fashion brand – have even incorporated NFC chips into their sweaters, which allow their customers to ‘adopt’ the sheep that provide wool for their garments, and follow their journeys moving forward.
With heat-regulation properties that serve both to insulate or keep the body cool, the project highlights the versatility of the material, inviting guests to take part in an interactive programme spanning surfing, hiking, film screenings and yoga on the neighbouring Porthtowan Beach.
Launched in 2010 by Prince Charles, the Campaign for Wool seeks to explain and promote the extensive benefits of wool as a high-performance, renewable fibre – including fire safety, practical durability and sustainability, working globally to form an ever-growing cross-industry coalition.
The Wool Beach Lodge will be open until 13th July, with tickets for specific activities available to purchase from Eventbrite. Follow the project on the campaign’s Instagram as well as our dreamy time at the lodge last week below…
