At the Gucci SS19 show in the grand Théâtre Le Palace in Paris, actor and musician Zumi Rosow walked the runway wearing a black nylon two-piece, carrying a structured python leather bag. Yep, the Gucci Zumi bag is named after her – inspired by both her unique aesthetic and creative flair. And since then, we’ve seen it poised on the arm of everyone from Hollywood royalty Saoirse Ronan and Jenna Coleman, to big fashion names like Bryanboy and Pixie Geldof.
The Gucci Zumi brings together two of the house’s historical motifs: Horsebit hardware and the iconic Interlocking G, inspired by a rare Gucci archive piece selected by creative director Alessandro Michele.
But while the bag is a versatile staple piece, we’ve been spoilt for choice on its design, with Gucci offering an eclectic range of sizes and colourways (including our fave, a fruity strawberry print), as well as smooth or grainy leather options, or skins including python, elaphe, ostrich and crocodile.
