PREMIERE: LADY BIRD – “BOOT FILLERS”

The post-punk trio trade insults over a scrabble board in their brand new vid.

“‘Boot Fillers’ is about the challenging relationships I have had with father figures throughout my life,” Lady Bird frontman Sam Cox says. “Something valuable that I have come to appreciate is that it can be difficult for both parties involved.”

Releasing the accompanying visuals for their latest banger today, the Tunbridge Wells trio explore this idea in the brand new vid shot in drummer Joe Walker’s uncle’s house. Directed by Homer and Farley, “Boot Fillers” is an electrifying look into what the three-piece – completed by guitarist Alex Deadman – are looking to achieve now, having already wowed with their debut EP “Social Potions”.

With tensions running high between Cox and a father figure, the pair trade insults over a scrabble board and hold awkward family discussions over tea and bourbon biscuits in the new video, before eventually resigning to the idea that living harmoniously may not be too bad. In Cox’s own words: “We don’t have to stay the same forever / We can blossom and adjust and someday become better.”
