Known for her Instagram-famous Infinity Rooms (they give the viewer the appearance of being stood amidst miles of twinkling lights or spotty pumpkins), Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is probably the last person you’d associate with a skateboarding line.

But the iconic taste-maker has lent her signature venomous polka-dots to a series of skateboards for an upcoming collaboration with New York gallery, MoMa.

Out in October, the limited-edition painted boards will feature two of Kusama’s most famous works: Yellow Trees (1994), and Dots Obsession (2018) – which was created specifically for the line.

Only 500 will go into production, so you better believe that skate and art fans will be the cause of any MoMa online site crashes on the day.
