After discovering his love for Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack at the age of 13, self-taught wunderkind Kyan wasted no time in learning to play the piano and producing his own music.
Since then, the singer-songwriter has honed his genre-bending sound (influences swing widely from soul, pop, R&B, indie and electronic) into collaborations with Duke Dumont, Madeon, Benga, Knox Brown – even snagging a tour spot with London Grammar.
He released his debut EP, “The Purple Experiment” back in 2014, and now three EPs in, has cemented his position as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists.
The singer is now back with brand new single, “Nothing Beyond” (all raw emotion, heavy lyrics and soaring vocals), accompanied by a dreamy video, shot on analogue film in California’s stark Joshua Tree and Death Valley.
“I wrote it after a major record deal came to an end and a long term relationship crumbled within the 24 hours. All of the sign posts to who I am and what I was about were suddenly taken away. It was like I had been dropped in the middle of a post apocalyptic desert, left to figure out how to survive and how to find direction again,” Kyan explains.
