Since arriving at the house in 2014, Nicolas Ghesquière has taken Louis Vuitton’s cruise collections to Monaco, Palm Springs and Rio: in 2017 the honour belongs to Kyoto, where the creative director will present his latest offering on Sunday morning.
“After the desert and Palm Springs, the ocean and Rio, I wanted to introduce people to another landscape, to immerse them in a sea of green,” explains Ghesquière. “For our 2018 cruise fashion show we are transported into a tangled web of nature, geographical greatness and a unique architectural vision.”
Set to take place at the Miho Museum – the I.M. Pei designed “terrestrial paradise” located in the Shiagarki mountains in Shiga – for most the show won’t, sadly, be an IRL experience (hello modern technology – Instagram! Snapchat! The whole damn internet!), while it will, no doubt, be something pretty spectacular; hence why we’re happy to present a livestream, here, on Wonderland on 14th May at 9.20am (BST).
Something to wake up bright and early for the morning after the night before, huh? See you then.
