SEVEN WONDERS: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

As Buffy celebrates its 20th anniversary, we chart the cult classic’s best looks.

Friends who dress together, slay together

Far from having a normal time at high school, Buffy became Willow’s closest companion after saving her from an onslaught of vampires. Seen below in coordinating check, these two are literally slayin’. Their years at Sunnyvale High have given us friendship and matching outfit goals for days…

Spike’s bleached locks

Did Spike take hair tips from NSYNC Justin Timberlake or did Justin take tips from Spike? We aren’t sure. What we can be sure of is Spike was a vampire we didn’t mind being bitten by. Anti-hero, bad boy and somewhat romantic – we are OBSESSED with Spike and his bleached locks.

Willow’s sweater collection

In a world filled with vampires, demons and other evil spirits, it’s important to take refuge in the brighter things in life; like Willow’s sweater collection. With (at times questionable) wooly jumpers and bucket hats, Willow has given us something to smile about when armageddon seems near…

Prom date with a vampire

Buffy was killin’ it when she paired her lemon ball gown with a massive crossbow on prom night. Never mind worrying about normal teenage problems when you have vampires to slay and a high school to save.

Warrior attire

Who needs practicality when sassiness will suffice? When Buffy said ‘bite me’ to a vampire, we knew her pun based humour would have been enough to destroy the villains alone. Despite swaying a head-sized axe around, Buffy managed to always remain super cute in her warrior outfits.

The Scooby gang

With an image that could not look more 90’s, the so-called Scooby gang evolved into a powerhouse against supernatural evil forces. As Willow says: “Why do demons even come here anymore? I mean, don’t they know…”

We’re not sure Willow, but we’re soooo happy we got to see you all kick their ass for seven series’.

The must-have accessory: a stake

Along with the chokers, miniskirts and halter necks, Buffy’s outfit was not complete without her trusted vampire-killing stake. Making slaying look sexy, Buffy quickly become the high school heroine we all wanted to be.
