KATAMA SS17

Garrett Neff impresses with new road trip inspired collection.

“Long days of water, sun and family inspired me to create Katama. My earliest memories are of a time when I lived in my bathing suit,” so announces Delaware native and label founder Garrett Neff on the Katama website. An in demand model previously lensed by Bruce Weber and Steven Meisel – his runway appearances include heavyweights like Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors – Neff launched Katama in 2015.

His own style was developed from observing the men in his family – “combining the preppy athleticism of my father, the tailored sharpness of my world-travelling grandfather, and the military functionality of my uncle,” as he puts it – and such aesthetics likewise factor into the men’s swimwear label. For SS17, pictured here, road trips were a key source of inspiration, while palette wise pastels get a prominent look in.
