Premiere: Thomas Azier – "Gold"

Thomas Azier teases us with third track, “Gold”, from his upcoming album, Rouge.

Thomas Azier has just released the third track from his upcoming album, Rouge, which follows his incredible 2014 debut album, Hylas. Having relocated from Berlin to Paris, the new album is influenced by some of France’s best artists and songwriters, and features a 1920’s upright piano that Thomas bought in the French capital. The records that have been created are a new artistic direction for Thomas and show his exquisite songwriting and lyrical talent. His stunning voice is the “fil rouge” – “common thread” – of the album, and the phrase was actually the inspiration for the album title.

Thomas’ piano takes centre stage in his newest track, “Gold”. As his exquisite vocals glide over piano chords, the track explores the pitfalls of being in love.“’Gold’ is about the moment I realized what I was running after, was not what really mattered,” Thomas tells us. Once the track reaches the chorus, it erupts into a colossal pop record showcasing Thomas’ skill on laptop keys as well as piano keys.

With the new album set for release on May 12th, “Gold” shows Thomas’ ability to push the boundaries of music and will undoubtedly establish him as one of the best in the game.
