LFW: House of Holland

Henry Holland brings the wild wild west to London for his House of Holland AW17 collection.

Country Gyal

As fashion on-lookers entered the Topshop Show Space to the sound of Tennessee-born Miley Cyrus’ and her seminal album BANGERZ, it was clear to see that this choice of music was a little hint at what to expect when the models finally hit the runway. Fringe jackets, checkered cow-girl hats and star printed trench coats ensured this collection most definitely had a hint of the wild wild west. With an all-American aesthetic added to every look, the standouts pieces included super-flared jeans that billowed at the bottom and a series of items inspired by Woody Woodpecker including thigh-high boots brandishing his face.

These Are Made For Walking

Beneath every great cow-girl is a pair of hot-as-hell cowgirl boots and Holland ensures that he has you covered. With a plethora of designs including cherries (so cute!), stars and classic snakeskin and coming in a range of colours from baby-blue to camo (with matching dresses and trench coats), the boots alone are enough to make you want to throw on your daisy dukes and head to the rodeo! Ye-ha!

Diverse Delights

As a whole, the collection was naturally to-die-for, but the unique element of House of Holland AW17 was it’s ability to ensure there was something for everyone. Despite the high-key wild wild west vibes, there was also super-cute branded tees and jumpers with words like ‘DADDY’ and ‘BITCHES’, pleated tartan skirts and chunky velour bombers. So despite the outlandish rodeo designs, the Ready-to-Wear selections were equally as on-point. So whether you’re hoping to channel some western chic or simply look cute as hell in a classic slogan sweater, Henry Holland is your go-to guy this AW17.
