PREMIERE: LAS KELLIES – "SUMMER BREEZE"

Our #WCW, the fiery Argentinian girl group Las Kellies, premiere their new single “Summer Breeze”.

Las Kellies are the female three-piece making intense, upbeat, new age rock and roll. Their brand of catchy new wave post-punk merges garage-psych and melodic pop and has earned the band a cult following over the last few years. The girls got together back in 2005, after meeting at a gig in Buenos Aires, and after building a solid reputation in the Argentinian music scene they’re ready to take over the world. Given that Las Kellies sing in Spanish, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Catalan and French, this seems entirely possible.

Here at Wonderland, we’re loving the new single “Summer Breeze”, the first release from Las Kellies’ new album “Friends and Lovers” (Fire Records), which we’re super excited to be premiering here. Trust us, this sun-soaked psych-pop tune is perfect for the 2016 holiday playlist. The track may have been produced by Iván Diaz Mathé, known for his work with both Lee “Scratch” Perry & Mad Professor, but “Summer Breeze” actually marks a move away from dub heavy sounds for the trio. The honeyed tones and shimmering guitars feel very carefree. It’s the kind of tune that you can imagine would make the ideal soundtrack for a sun-bleached road trip along the coast, driving an old school whip with the wind in your hair. Cliché maybe, but take a listen and you’ll see exactly what we mean…
