One To Watch: PASKAL

We take a look at PASKAL, the minimalist label set to take Paris by storm this season.

We don’t usually hear about fashion designers coming out of Ukraine, but Julie Paskal might be the one to change all that. With a technical background in engineering and architecture, Paskal founded her eponymous label in 2010, before showing at Pitti W in Florence and eventually being shortlisted for the LVMH Prize in 2014. This year is set to be a big one for the label, as AW16 will be a Paris Fashion Week first for the brand.

Renowned for their delicate silhouettes and minimalist shapes, PASKAL is all about an architectural precision of line that is deeply entrenched in the designer’s own background and training. The beauty of her pieces is derived from their core components and construction, meaning exceptional quality and elegance throughout. Where other brands might pride themselves on good workmanship, laser-cutting is in PASKAL’s very DNA, and the result is sensitive design with a strong personality. With Paris starting in a matter of days, keep your eyes open for this label – they’ll be going on to big things.
