PREMIERE: VILLETTE – “OWLS”

We’ve got an exclusive new track from the talented producer-cum-vocalist, Villette.

Villette – aka Siné Buyuka – is the Turkish-born, London-based producer who’s been making waves with her glacial yet euphoric sound: supporting the likes of The XX and Jan Blomqvist across Europe, she first sprang to recognition with her infectious and considered remix of John Talabot’s “Without You” and is now set to release her debut EP, Crossed Wires, later this week. The EP is the next step on Siné’s cross-continental creative journey, which led her from presenting her own radio-show in her native Turkey, to creating original music in London.

We loved “Fall“, the first track from Crossed Wires, with its melancholic and rain-washed, organic soundscapes, so, we’re thrilled to be able to bring you the exclusive premiere of Villette’s next cut, “Owls”. The track stems from Villette’s experiences of adjusting to the sexual politics of London, something that, in her own words, “caused problems in early relationships and left me writing “Owls”. I don’t do vocal tracks usually but I just had to write this to explain myself and let it out!” Production credits are shared between Siné and Tel Aviv-based Rani Dar, whose glitchy-Techno work is a perfect foil to those sophisticated vocals. Give it a listen, and I’m sure you’ll be as excited we are to hear the rest of the EP in a few days.
