PFW: Dior AW15

Kinky red thigh-high boots, hyper-hued form-fitting catsuits and spliced tweed skirts. This is Raf Simons vision for Dior AW15.

Out of the Box

We may have been encaged like animals at the zoo – in a Pepto-Bismal pink floored, glass windowed box – within the grounds of the Louvre, but the collection presented most certainly broke free from the prescribed Dior mould. Raf Simons sent acid-bright catsuits that elevated the female form down the catwalk, along with rose and emerald tinted fur outerwear and slashed and spliced tweed skirts, paired with baby-blue and soft pink silk shirts.

Perspex Heel Perfection

It could be argued that the boots stole the show. Perverse and seductive in equal measure, if Pretty Woman had been made in 2015, Julia Roberts would have been wearing a pair of super-sexy, skin-tight, thigh-high red lucite Dior boots, complete with perspex heel. Call girl stereotypes aside, these leg-hugging heroes – that also came in two tone purple and bronze, grey and burgundy – were worn with menswear influenced suiting, futuristic high-shine mesh two pieces and a-line tweed panelled dresses.

Fur Real

Lavish and decadent, fur came as outerwear (tinted emerald and rose), worn over tweed cropped trouser two-pieces, and stitched in strips on dresses. Alternate outerwear came in three shades of green, masculine in shape worn long with none other than the killer perspex heel boots.
