The internet imploded last night as Céline released their latest campaign featuring American author Joan Didion, cementing her crown as the Queen of Cool.

As we were settling in for a snooze after a busy day at Wonderland HQ we checked Instagram and Twitter for the day’s final updates because fashion never sleeps. We usually just like a few posts about parties we wish we were at, boys we wish we were with and clothes we wish we were wearing but last night the internet was screaming messages of shock, horror and adoration, all in 140 characters or less.

Justin Bieber was everywhere (Lara Stone was in those pictures too BTW) looking all grown up in his undies and everyone had something to say about it. Almost instantaneously, the sensationalist was neutralised with a little bit of class as Joan Didion appeared on our screens, all in black, hidden behind giant sunglasses as the new face of Céline.

Also appearing in the campaign are British model, Freya Lawrence and Marie-Agnès Gillot, French ballet dancer and choreographer. Previous faces of the brand have included Daria Werbowy, Binx Walton and Natalie Westling. With the title of Céline girl comes the universally accepted fact you are effortlessly cool.
