This week in Hit List, we splurge on the best, the biggest and the most luxe tote bags this season. So take a look, grab your bag, and well, bag it.

DVF On The Go Tote gray and black with pink tag

Diane Von Furstenburg On The Go Tote

Tote bags are quite personal, from what (and the amount) we stuff into them, to the shape and colour. DVF respects the woman’s right to tote how she chooses by creating a perfectly sized and shaped tote. Coming in an array of colours and prints, including this very on trend silvery metallic, it’s one of the go-to totes of the season.

Available for £204 from Dvf.com and 02074990886

Smythson Hit List eliot ivory large tote bag

Smythson Eliot Ivory Large Tote

Practical, pretty and luxurious, this Smythson ivory tote with brown and gold detailing was made for the cool and fashionable businesswoman — the woman who wears white Valentino suits, bright lipstick and Gucci sunglasses while breaking men in the boardroom during her morning coffee. Check out the rest of the chic SS13 Smythson collection in the video campaign here.

Available for £1,395 from Smythson.comRiver Island Hit List Totes orange leather tote bag

River Island Orange Leather Structured Tote Bag

Nothing brightens up an outfit like a hearty tangerine dream tote — particularly during our present gloom this early summer. The structured leather bag from River Island is simple and very chic with the added gold buckle detailing, for a look that screams expensive without breaking the bank.

Available for £70 from Riverisland.com

Hit-List-Dior-Homme-Tote-

Dior Homme Metal Corner Tote

The weekend bag from Dior Homme is sleek, dark and very mysterious. Made from premium calfskin, the tote’s barrel shape and arched handles allow for premium mobility without any extra clunk. From the gorgeous black sheen to the silver metal detailing and tied leather strand, this bag is practically luxurious.

Available for £4,400 from Dior.com, Selfridges,  and 0207 172 0172

WAREHOUSE Hit List Totes Contrast Zip Tote bag

Warehouse Contrast Zip Tote

This neutral Warehouse tote seems understated and normal, but has a pleasantly surprising twist — or should we say zip? For conservative socialites and penny pinchers alike, the red contrasting zips strike through the structured tote for detailing that is fun, but not tacky or overwhelming.

Available for £42 from Warehouse.co.uk

Prada Hit List Totes Saffiano Lux colbalt blue bag

Prada Saffiano Lux Colbalt Blue Tote

What more can you say when describing a Prada bag? The Saffiano Lux tote is big rather than cumbersome, bright without seeming brash, and accented without looking trashy. The hues are loud enough for summer, but fit perfectly into the deep pigments of AW13. In addition to the blue, the Saffiano Lux tote comes in an orange/hot pink and a brown/beige two-tone.

Available for £1,290 from Old Bond Street and Sloane Street boutiques and Prada.com

FCUK Hit List Totes Black and White Horses Shopper

French Connection Printed Horses Black and White Canvas Shopper Tote

The Printed Horses tote from French Connection checks many of the trend boxes: monochrome, leather accents, and animal prints. But the pre-fall AW13 French Connection tote is much more, as it combines the aristocratic past of the black and white equestrian print with a presently urbane cool in the shape and structure of the bag.

Available for £125 from Frenchconnection.com

Lisa King takes screwing to a fashionable new level with her first pop-up at Boxpark, featuring her infamous Flora and Screw designs.

Lisa King SS13

Lisa King started her days as the assistant to Kylie Minogue mega-stylist Will Baker, getting her big break by creating the centrepiece gown for the Kylie retrospective at the V&A (ugh-mazing). The witty designer has since worked as a print designer for high fashion labels including Diane Von Furstenberg and Calvin Klein – but now, she’s cutting loose and showing her designs for all to see with her Boxpark pop-up.

Influenced by hip-hop and ideas of dichotomy, Lisa’s unisex SS13 accessories collection forges together seemingly opposed notions of concept, from masculine versus feminine to industrial versus organic. Like King’s own quirky style, the deconstructed petals of her Flora prints and the marked punctuation of Screw give the finger to traditional boundaries.

From her satirical puns, including the brash ‘Screw You’ and ‘Fancy a Screw’ emblazoned across hippie-loving canvas totes, inconspicuous necklaces to those infamous scarves, the Lisa King spring collection and pop-up isn’t easily missed.

Check out the video of the star-clustered, pop up opening event below, and visit the official Lisa King website for a chance to win tickets to a secret gig in-store this Friday.

The Lisa King Boxpark London pop-up on runs from 23 May to Friday 31 May. Check out her complete SS13 collection at www.lisakinglondon.com

Lifting the lid on how the professionals get the look in our beauty editorials. First up: this bird-of-paradise beauty, perfect for spring/summer.

Chanel SS13 Beauty

“This shoot was all about colour, colour, colour!” make-up artist Lucy Bridge told us. “Bold and bright coloured mascaras and molten metallic shadows are the perfect combination to anyones makeup case – and the super colourful eye and lashes teamed with a bleached brow is perfect for SS13.”

1. The first step for this dramatic eye is the base the eye with Chanel SS13 Exclusive Creation Stylo Eyeshadow in Blue Bay all over the eye lid. Using an eye shadow blending brush blend into the eye crease. Then using Exclusive Creation Stylo Eyeshadow in Pink Lagoon press into the crease and up to the brow bone. Apply a few layers until the colour is really built up and strong. Bring Pink Lagoon under the lower lash line and blend out into the middle.

2. Next using the Exclusive Creation Stylo Eyeshadow in Jade Shore press into the inner corners of the eye using a small smudge brush and blend downwards and underneath the lower lash line. Again layer up to make the colour really prominent.

3. For a total colour clash add 3 coats of Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Blue Note to top and bottom lashes.

4. Using your finger press Levres Scintillantes in Zephyr to the lips. Blot with a tissue for a muted look.

5. Les Beiges Powder was used on the skin for a natural and matte coverage.

Brand Buzz gives adventure buffs a stylish twist with the Carrera foldable helmet and paired Carrera 6008 sunglasses.

Carrera Helmut Sunglasses Wonderland Magazine Brand Watch

Traditionally, helmets were reserved for BMX biker buffs and cult film nerds with bully-produced wedgies — so for street-wise, health obsessed, urban jungle aficionados, trekking the streets is as much a question of style as it is of health and safety.  Luckily Carrera, a brand steeped in luxury style and a history-rich racing background, gave us the Brand Buzz on its premium edition foldable helmet along with sibling shades.

While ‘helmet’ and ‘foldable’ sound recreational at best, the design behind this equipment is sleek and impressive. Acting with an accordion-like structure and modelled after the famed leather pistard helmet of RAF skits the world over, the helmet is breathable, comfortable and actually safe. In addition (oh, yes), Carrera launched the Carrera 6008 sunglasses to match the helmet, in shades of black and Havana, combining cool design and safety that bullies, cool kids and nerds can all finally agree on.

Available £123 for Carrera Helmet and £119 for Carrera 6008 Sunglasses at 00800 72345600 or www.carreraworld.com

We got an exclusive shot of uber-babe Tali Lennox modelling the new Diesel collection. It’s a doozy.

Tali Lennox for Diesel

If there’s one girl who knows how to rock out, it’s probably Tali Lennox. After all, her mum pretty much did nothing else for the 80s – and if you’re in any doubt of that, you only have to head down to a dancefloor just as the DJ drops ‘Sweet Dreams’ to an adoring crowd.

So it comes as no surprise that Diesel tapped Tali for their spring/summer 2013 womenswear collection. Entitled ‘Tough Goes Gentle’, the line is all about fierce rock chicks who don’t see any contradiction in going hard and rocking a girly pair of denims.

Case in point: the Grupee jeans that Tali sports, which come in a super skinny cut that wouldn’t seem out of place on Annie Lennox – or Mick Jagger, for that matter. It’s exclusively available on Asos, so move fast if you want a pair.

Chills and thrills abound in Tim Zaragoza’s fashion film of Rag & Bone‘s desert-chic spring 2013 collection, shot exclusively for Wonderland.

WONDERLAND w/ MARTHA HUNT from Tim Zaragoza on Vimeo.

The spring 2013 women’s collection from New York-based brand Rag & Bone offers up a delightful miscellany of scorching hot references. Inspired in part by the frenetic desert storm of the Paris-Dakar rally, it cleverly reinvents motocross staples (like side-striped leather trousers), and mixes it up with the kind of clobber you’re more likely to come across in the hot, hot, heat (like explorer-worthy khakis and Bedouin head scarves.)

Here, in an exclusive film for wonderlandmagazine.com, Wonderland’s Senior Fashion Editor at Large, Anthony Unwin, takes the collection for a spin with photographer Tim Zaragoza and all-American beauty Martha Hunt, who smoulders, fades and shimmers through key looks to a hazy, shoegaze-tinged soundtrack. Dream on!

Shop the SS13 Rag & Bone collection at rag-bone.com or pop in to the brand’s impressive flagship on Sloane Street, London. To see the full shoot and read an interview with Rag & Bone Managing Partners Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, be sure to pick up the summer 2013 edition of Wonderland, starring Taylor Swift.

What is class? Rare breed though it is, we do know that it’s chic, it’s stylish, and it commands respect. But class isn’t only reserved for the le smoking wearing martini sippers of yore – whether cleaned up or dressed down, class is a soul thing. Dior is certainly a label that understands a classy bird will always look good in every situation, which explains their latest and arguably greatest Dior Homme collection, Dior Homme Les Essentiels 5.

One of our favourite pieces of the collection (aptly named number 4) are the stretch poplin shirts, which combine a relaxed look with incredible tailoring – it is essential Dior, after all. The linen tape, also present in the season’s men’s jackets and blousons, forms a sophisticated, clean-lined trim on the collars. So whether the Dior Homme hunk is polo playing, strolling, or sipping coffee, life in the class lane is always about sophisticated style, right down to those derriere-perfect jeans.

Since Kanye’s gone full-on Margiela-mask crazy, there’s been a gap in the market for a fashion-forward musician to steal the hearts of the industry. Enter Frank Ocean. First he upstaged the A-list at Paris Fashion Week with trips to Dior, Chanel, Givenchy and Margiela. Now he’s bagged his first fashion campaign, this time for Band of Outsiders.

Photographed by creative director Scott Sternberg looking fierce in downtown LA, Frank joins previous campaign stars Kirsten Dunst, Michelle Williams, Andrew Garfield and Wonderland cover star Dave Franco. New images of Frank goofing off in a gym in a red windcheater have just been unveiled – maybe it’s the high school setting, but we can totally imagine Frank being the bad boy in a remake of The Breakfast Club.

Band of Outsiders will be dropping more images on their Tumblr, Instagram (@thisisbandofoutsiders) and website until Sunday. Check out the pictures below.

We’re right in the thick of the autumn/winter show season, but that doesn’t mean we’re quite done with spring/summer yet – here are the trends you can expect to see trickling down from the runway as the weather (hopefully) starts to heat up.

Burberry, Simone Rocha and Jonathan Saunders Spring/Summer 2013 Metallic Trend
1. Metal Mania

Sequins and studs are no longer constricted to nighttime debauchery. This season, sparkling clusters and metallic sheens meant for daytime revelry prevailed at Burberry and Jonathan Saunders. Along with diamond whites, SS13 revels in jewel tones – fiery reds, sapphire blues, deep purples and emerald greens. So remember the rule of summer: the shinier, the better.

Designers to follow: Burberry, Jonathan Saunders, Simone Rocha, Fendi, Alexander Wang

Mary Katrantzou, House of Holland and Holly Fulton Spring/Summer 2013 Print Trends
2. Psychedelic Prints

It’s time to get in touch with your untapped subconscious, because psychedelia was all over the spring/summer runway. House of Holland released a glamorous but daring collection full of hallucinogenic yellows, peace-loving purples and acid greens, while Mary Katrantzou and Holly Fulton concentrated on abstracted, Pollock-like patterns. Ditch your inner wallflower, because this trend is loud and proud.

Designers to follow: House of Holland, Mary Katrantzou, Holly Fulton, Proenza Schouler, Peter Pilotto

Christopher Kane, Stella McCartney and Versus Spring/Summer 2013 Trends: Biker and bomber jackets
3. Biker, Bomber Jackets

For the indispensable key item for this season, may we suggest the biker or bomber jacket? These jackets toughen traditionally sweet and feminine looks, plus they’ll keep you toasty in the typically freezing English springtime. Stella McCartney and Christopher Kane provide sporty, relaxed bombers while Versus biker jackets will release the beach babe badass in you.

Designers to follow: Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, Antipodium, Versus, Daks

Vivienne Westwood, Kinder Aggugini, Erdem Spring/Summer 2013 Floral Runway Trends
4. Flora and Fauna

Of course it wouldn’t be spring without floral prints bloomin’ everywhere. But these aren’t your Grandma-on-Easter-Sunday florals; these are floral prints on acid. Vibrant colours and intricate motifs cascade down skirts at Dior, on trousers at Erdem, and on the heads of Vivienne Westwood models. But it’s not just flowers on display; garden critters litter the fashion landscape, from snakeskin to bird motifs. So take a risk on one of the most traditional spring trends in fashion; we promise you won’t be disappointed.

Designers to follow: Vivienne Westwood, Erdem, Christian Dior, Valentino, Kinder Aggugini

Acne, Louis Vuitton and Chanel Spring/Summer 2013 Monochrome Runway Trend
5. Chic Monochrome

Don’t worry if colourful prints and metallics aren’t your thing – another runway trend is monochrome. Black and white pairings dominated the runways of Louis Vuitton, Acne, and Chanel. But this trend is anything but boring; in fact, instead of blending with the bushes or graffiti, monochrome is the standout trend here, appearing as stripes and standout checks.

Designers to follow: Acne, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Balenciaga, Eudon Choi

Topshop Unique, Ashish, JW Anderson Spring/Summer 2013 90 Sporty Runway Trend
6. Nineties Sport

When we long for warm, summer days (particularly with the recent, sub-zero weather forecast), we usually envision the bare midriffs and over classic nineties coming-of-age film. Luckily, the SS13 trend of nineties sport plays perfectly to our idea of a casual summer. Topshop Unique, JW Anderson and others reveled in nineties nostalgia, from oversized cloth jumpers, neon jersey and grunge-inspired mesh jackets. So dust off those old dungarees: the nineties is, like, totally back.

Designers to follow: Topshop Unique, Ashish, JW Anderson, Richard Nicoll, Antonio Berardi

Lacoste, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2013 Androgyny Runway Trend
7. Gender Mix

Girly to gamine is the theme of spring and summer fashion. From Michael Kors to Stella McCartney, designers mixed feminine, whimsical looks with straight-edged, androgynous cuts, allowing for day-to-day role-play. Whether you mix tea dresses with biker jackets or tailored suits with bare-midriffs, shake up those conformist gender norms, because this season it’s all about exploring the layers of modern womanhood.

Designers to follow: Michael Kors, Lacoste. Acne, Stella McCartney, Thomas Tait

Couture is dead, long live couture! Our Wonderland roving photographer was on hand to capture all the beautiful aquatic-inspired gowns at Oscar Carvallo.

Paris Couture Week Oscar Carvello SS13 (Image: Hatnim Lee)

Most of us will never be able to afford couture in our lives – after all, we don’t live in a world where a £6,000 Giambattista Valli dress counts as a bargain. That’s why couture isn’t about clothes; it’s about fantasy. We might have grown out of wanting to be fairy princesses, but we’ll never grow out of liking a good princess dress.

As models strode down the runway to Florence + the Machine’s ‘What the Water Gave Me’, one thing became abundantly clear: Oscar Carvallo is very good at making princess dresses. The Venezuelan designer excels at soft, sophisticated femininity: gowns with scaled iridescent tops were overlaid with layers of soft tulle and chiffon, all in the sweetest and lightest nudes, pinks and greys. According to Carvallo, the entire collection was inspired by the sea and the “sensuality of the female fish”, with lace fabrics inspired by pearls and corals and delicate white seashell accessories.  We’re not quite sure how fish can be sensual, but there was definitely something sultry in the water at the show.
