You might be surprised to find yourself strolling through a disused NYC subway car on an afternoon in July in London but transformation lies ahead in celebration of the opening of the new Tiffany’s store within Selfridges. From Friday until the 12th, within the Old Selfridges Hotel, Tiffany & Co will hold an exhibition recreating the corner in New York, where Fifth Avenue and 57th Street meet, where the first Tiffany’s store opened.

Made up of boxes, inspired by Tiffany’s iconic turquoise gifts, the exhibition will project the sights and sounds of Manhattan alongside an artificial but eternal sunset. Slip by after work (for free) and receive a New York style pretzel and coffee on the house or indulge in cocktails after 9pm at ‘Charlie’s’ speakeasy, named after the founder of Tiffany & Co.

Look for subtle but special nods towards the Tiffany brand, the sunset evolves into a diamond shape and the magnolia tree was a favoured motif of the founder’s sun. Gene Moore who designed Tiffany’s own store windows until 1994 has even created displays for Selfridges. Make it down on the 4th and you can even have your own Independence Day celebrations at home with their digital fireworks display.

The exhibition will be open from Friday 3rd of July until Sunday 12th July. Wednesday –  Saturday open 12:00 – 9:00pm, Sunday open 12:00 – 6:00pm, closed Monday and Tuesday.
