Underground launched a new store in Soho last week, featuring an exclusive collaboration with CASETTE PLAYA stylist Carri Munden and playing host to bands like oddball electro-rockers Is Tropical. Wonderland took a gander down Berwick Street to do a little bit of shoe shopping.

Apparently British soldiers in World War II used to wear hard-wearing crepe-soled shoes in North Africa, all to beat off the desert sands. Those same shoes made their way back to Britain, where the hard-up soldiers would visit prostitutes – hence the ‘brothel creeper’. Thanks to brands like Underground, creepers have made a comeback – and how.
