DJ AMBRR IS THE PLUG

Everyone loves AMBRR, and if you don’t, at least she loves herself. From Lady Gaga and Lily Allen to the Arctic Monkeys, the London-based DJ lets us in on her sonic lexicon where nothing is off limits, and every beat counts in the aftermath of her latest release, “ITC (In The Club)”.

One of the UK’s most exciting alt-dance artists right now, AMBRR is always plugged in. Whether she’s sharing overlooked gems through her “What’s On My USB?” series, spotlighting the sounds shaping her world, or transforming London nightlife with her neon-painted, hyperpop-infused AMBRR’S ROOM events, she’s not just finding the party – she’s creating it. Existing somewhere between DJ culture, creative direction and community-building, with a keen eye for fashion, AMBRR has carved out a space entirely her own.

Releasing her first Funky House-fused, bouncy-bass mix on SoundCloud just over a year ago, AMBRR has since accelerated through the UK music circuit with her punchy basslines, smooth transitions and contagious club rhythms, all delivered with a dose of Bratitude and It-girl prowess. With four official releases already out in the sonicsphere – including “BACKSEAT”, “5STAR” and “PERFECT/ice cold” – she’s quickly proving herself as one of the most compelling new voices emerging from the UK’s electronic scene.

Across her socials, she’s a vision fresh out of the noughties: holey crop tops, monochromatic ensembles, Photo Booth selfies on an iPhone 5S. A doll who can spin the decks. Where Destiny’s Child meets Britney meets Tyla, AMBRR’s aesthetic is as intentional as her sound – already earning co-signs from the South African pop princess.

But beneath the body glow, immaculate face beats and fierce fits lies AMBRR’s greatest asset: her ear. With an ability to blend unexpected influences into something infectious and immediate, being forward-thinking has become her signature – a quality that has taken her from online communities, where she helps to school the next gen, to some of the UK’s biggest stages.

A festival circuit regular, AMBRR returned to Victoria Park for All Points East last year – her second appearance at the beloved East London summer shutdown – sharing the stage with fellow production whizzes Babymorocco and trailblazing British artist Leon Vynehall for Barry Can’t Swim’s debut headline. Atop that, the starfaced producer has also delivered standout performances with Lancey Foux, a music fellow she frequently rubs shoulders with, at Manchester’s Parklife weekend, continuing to expand her influence beyond the booth.

Away from the stage, AMBRR’s impact is rooted in connection. Her AMBRR’S ROOM activations, including a recent collaboration with Converse, blur the lines between nightlife, fashion and creative culture. Her growing WhatsApp community of over 120 members keeps her closest supporters plugged into her DJ sets, premieres and exclusive moments.

AMBRR’s rise reflects a new era for artists: one that soundtracks popular culture while helping to shape it. Mother. I could listen to this song on repeat all day without getting tired. I love Kelela downnnn, her ability to reinvent herself and move seamlessly through different genres is so inspiring.

Stardust – “Music Sounds Better With You”

I’ve loved this song since I was a child. I always try to find a way to sneak it into every set and it gets a great reaction every time. The fact that this song is so simple and repetitive but doesn’t get annoying is fascinating to me and I think that’s what makes house music so great.

DJ Rashad – “Drank, Kush, Barz”

This is one of my favourite DJ Rashad songs – RIP to this legend. I’ve been so into Footwork (and juke) since I was a teenager and he’s a real pioneer of this sound.

Lily Allen – “The Fear”

Iconic British song. The song sounds so soft and fun yet touches on really interesting issues through the songwriting. I love the parallels.

Arctic Monkeys – “505”

Probably one of my favourite songs of all time. I love Arctic Monkeys so much and this song is just the perfect love song. Alex Turner might be my favourite songwriter.

AMBRR – “ITC (In The Club)”

This is a fun song about partying too hard. I made it in New York with my favourite [producer] Jack Laboz towards the end of a session. We were both getting tired so that blurry/messy energy definitely came from real life. I’ve been playing it in my DJ sets a lot. It’s perfect for the club during the high energy moments.

Lady Gaga – “Starstruck”

This song is just me. When I first heard it, I genuinely changed my whole personality. It’s just so baddie coded. mother mother mother.

Calvin Harris – “The Girls”

This song and Calvin, in general, makes me love being British. This song is so fun and timeless. If I hear this I might just go to the pub and order a pint.
