kwn another one of my favourite upcoming artists who has finally broken through the barrier. This song explains itself. In music it’s very easy to want to throw the towel in. This helped me get me through some testing times. She also reminds me of myself in terms of her music creative process.
Efosa – “MHMM”
Efosa is just overall the sound guy. An amazing writer & this song had me vibing on my m’way journey home from the studio constantly.
Lola Brooke ft. Jeremih – “No One Else”
This song gave me that nostalgic feeling from the songs I grew up on. Was nice to hear and felt refreshing this kind of music was still getting recognition. I still need a song like this with a strong female rapper.
Lil Simz – “Point & Kill”
This song here made me feel like I was as kid again playing FIFA. Lil Simz for me is one of a kind in the UK and as much as I haven’t listened to every song, only certain songs I need to hear before I solidify you as a great in this country. In her own lane this song kept me hungry.
Vybz Kartel – “Love Dem/Gallis Anthem”
One Gaza. The greatest. One of my favourite songs from the WorlBoss & when he was still locked up I took myself to Jamaica and played my music on many beaches, I had a lot of people compliment my music & when his right hand man TJ records hit me up. It picked me up and made me hungry for that Vybz Kartel feature.
Nines ft. Tiggs Da Author – “Not Guilty”
One of my favourite songs from Nina and Tiggs, their combination is unmatched. This song made me think of my brother who’s unfortunately in prison for life. Anybody who knows me since a teen will know my brother is an innocent man. No more needs to be said.
Queen Ifrica – “Lioness On The Rise”
One of my favourite reggae songs. I grew up on this song and anytime I hear it, it could bring a tear to my eyes remembering my childhood. Powerful song always keeps me level headed.
Chronixx – “They Don’t Know”
This heartfelt song from Chronixx is one of my favourites from him. Any hardship I faced, any time I felt I was going to lose myself. This song would pop into my mind & I had to remember, no matter what people see or think, they don’t know what I feel inside.
Lauryn Hill – “Ex-Factor”
One of the greatest. No explanation needed. In my family household as a child this was everybody’s favourite. Most of Lauryn Hill’s songs could make me cave in. Saying that with laughter she truly is the greatest to me overall. “Ex-Factor” is just one of many songs that I hold closely to my heart.
