Launched in October 2024, Femake aims to bridge the market gap for women, particularly those from diverse backgrounds.
Currently, 40% of Black and Asian businesses report no profit in their first year, compared to just 15% of white-owned businesses. Additionally, as of 2025, women make up only 20% of entrepreneurs in the UK. These statistics highlight the significant challenges women—especially those from ethnic minority backgrounds—face not only in daily life but also in business and entrepreneurship.
Femake Entrepreneurship was created to address these barriers and drive meaningful change. By hosting events that promote female entrepreneurship, the platform showcases talent, skills, and businesses while tackling the challenges women encounter in the industry. Since its inception, Femake’s founders have personally witnessed how difficult the entrepreneurial journey can be—especially when navigating it alone. That’s why they built Femake as more than just an initiative; it’s a networking hub where women can connect, share ideas, and seek guidance on business-related matters, from client communication to improving efficiency.
Today, the project has grown into a thriving community of over 300 women who actively participate in market events, workshops, exhibitions, and social gatherings. The passion remains strong—Femake is committed to improving these statistics, creating more opportunities, and paving an easier path for women in entrepreneurship.
