Breaking away from conventional music video production norms, where visuals merely complement the track, “Archetype” embarks on a new creative journey. In this groundbreaking project, the visual narrative takes precedence, with OVERWERK meticulously crafting the soundtrack to harmonize with the imagery. “Archetype” seamlessly fuses sleek, monochromatic visuals with pulsating electronic basslines, resulting in an immersive and electrifying experience that transcends traditional boundaries and bridges multiple art forms.
Richardson delves into the concept, touching on inspirations and future projects, explaining “The Archetype figure is a cipher for the latest artistic collaboration between myself and OVERWERK. Her (the Archetype figure) fluid, machine-driven world was mute until OVERWERK provided the soundscape for her transformation. From HR Giger to Manga, the Archetype embodies our mutual iconography – a symbolic figure in an endless state of flux. This is the first incarnation of an ongoing generative project that spans photography, AI, music, and sculpture, beginning with the video and single release in June.”
