PHOEBE WILLO – “WORDS WE SAY”

The surging alternative/indie pop star returns with charming, enamouring new EP, “Words We Say”.

Fresh off the success of last month’s introspective hit, “Learn To Love Again,” the up-and-coming singer-songwriter continues to carve her niche in the indie pop realm with her latest offering, “Words We Say” – a captivating 5-track EP, produced by Andy Parker, which is poised to solidify Phoebe’s presence in streaming playlists everywhere.

Exploring the depths of human emotion, Willo seamlessly blends piano and keyboard melodies with the gentle strumming of guitar and ukulele strings. As the EP unfolds, tracks like “Not Me” and “Perfect Day” encapsulate Phoebe Willo’s distinctive sound, effortlessly balancing infectious compositions with her vibrant lyrical palette.

The EP’s emotional apex is reached with the poignant “Learn To Love Again,” where Phoebe candidly navigates the challenges of emotional and physical exhaustion stemming from stress and anxiety. With her evocative vocals, paired with delicate piano accompaniment, Phoebe crafts a haunting yet comforting atmosphere, showcasing her versatility as an artist.

Reflecting on the emotive inspiration behind “Learn To Love Again” Phoebe offers insight into her creative process and the personal experiences that shape her music. Phoebe explains, “It is about trying to find a calm place somewhere between euphoria and depression, this is the reference in the song to ‘somewhere that’s in between’. In order to truly experience love you first have to come to terms with all your own issues and forgive yourself for your failures. Essentially, you need ‘to get to know yourself’ before beginning to understand and learn what love is.”
