BRIDGET JONES MEETS ONE DAY?

This is not a drill: Leo Woodall is set to join Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant for Bridget Jones 4.

Good things come to those who wait… and after eight years since 2016’s last instalment of the Bridget Jones series, Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant are now back for a fourth film — starring no other than One Day and White Lotus heartthrob Leo Woodall. The fourth big screen outing is an adaptation of Helen Fielding’s 2013 novel Mad About the Boy.

The movie is set to be released on Valentine’s Day next year, and filming will take place this summer in London. Hugh Grant is set to reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver, Bridget Jones’ main antagonist, as is Emma Thompson. Woodall will reportedly play a 30-year-old hot affair of Bridget’s as she steps her toes into new dating realms — now as a widow and a solo mum. Experiencing dating apps and all the adventures that come with it, she’s in for a wild ride. And we couldn’t be more excited!

Read the official synopsis:

“What do you do when a girlfriend’s 60th birthday party is the same day as your boyfriend’s 30th? Is it wrong to lie about your age when online dating? Is it morally wrong to have a blow-dry when one of your children has head lice? Does the Dalai Lama actually tweet or is it his assistant Is technology now the fifth element? Or is that wood?

Is sleeping with someone after 2 dates and 6 weeks of texting the same as getting married after 2 meetings and 6 months of letter writing in Jane Austen’s day?

Pondering these, and other modern dilemmas, Bridget Jones stumbles through the challenges of single-motherhood, tweeting, texting and rediscovering her sexuality in what SOME people rudely and outdatedly call ‘middle age’.”
