Inspired by contemporary culture, rooted in luxurious silhouettes and embraced by fashion movements, COS has adopted a bespoke approach to design, crafting unique collections that seamlessly blend function with timeless style. For their inaugural show in Rome, the brand chose Corsie Sistine – a section of a 15th-century hospital lovingly restored by a local health organisation – as the backdrop to showcase 33 elegant ensembles amidst 13,000 square feet of Renaissance murals.
The show boasted a full-house attendance with a litany of global stars across contemporary culture, including the likes of Pamela Anderson, Jack O’Connell, Minho Choi, Pruk Panich, Aisha Dee and Caro Daur.
Throughout the collection, fluid volumes complement soft, meticulous demarcations. Distinguished draping meets flawless craftsmanship to create dynamic, billowing shapes. COS imbues its twist on classic tailoring, offering smooth silks in boxy, oversized forms.
The show also marks the debut of their SS24 Atelier collection, characterised by the inspired use of fine fabrics and meticulous design. Standout pieces boast hand-pleated shoulder pads, fishtail skirts, and free-flowing maxi-lengths, while tailoring and knitwear are reimagined with elongated hybrid sleeves and inward folding lapels. Experimentation with techniques, material manipulation, and slicing enhances the surface texture of leather jackets, ballerinas, and loafers. Pleated wide-leg trousers, crafted using bespoke paper moulds, boast hand-painted edges for added depth and fluidity.
